Well casing extension

Here is a well extension project underway.

As result of new research the old practice of cutting off water well casing below grade and burying them is no longer an acceptable, safe, or legal way of doing things. To meet the new standard and keep your drinking water safe to drink your well head must be at least 12" above grade and capped with a sealed well cap.

In this particular site the well had been buried in a hand laid blue stone patio that was surrounded by a wall. The patio/wall had been completed just a year earlier by the home owner who was not in a hurry to have it taken down in order to fix the well. We built the ramps pictured so that we could get well water safely flowing without damaging or removing the extensive stone work. The dirt excavated was placed onto a tarp so as to not damage the patio. For that matter we didn't even get the stonework dirty. Although it requires a lot of coordination, these projects are very important for safe well water.

We work hand in hand with Nielson Water Systems, Inc. (A nationally certified pump installer.) and McCords Welding to make sure the job is done right. We will organize and professionally complete the whole project for you.

Is your well head legal? Do you even know where your water well is?

When we finally got the well casing exposed we found that there was a massive hole in the casing, a sure entrance for bacteria. Pictured is Rusty McCord of McCord's Welding, patching the hole and allowing for an environmentally sealed pit-less adapter to be installed.
